(Another) NBA Player Under Investigation for Gambling

Sports and betting. The two go together like peanut butter and jelly.

Seriously.

Sports betting is everywhere we look — commercials, billboards, and athlete advertisements.

One could even argue the sports world has a betting obsession. Or problem.

And now, not for the first time, we’re seeing an NBA player facing a federal investigation for alleged gambling, including NBA prop bets.

But for Detroit Piston Malik Beasley, the federal investigation is just the tip of the iceberg.

Here’s the full breakdown:

More Than $8 Million In Financial Problems

According to The Detroit News, Beasley is facing a plethora of financial issues.

In the past year alone, Bealsey has been sued multiple times and has had part of his Pistons paycheck seized.

On the court, Beasley had a breakout season. The shooting guard averaged over 16 points per game and, in addition to Anthony Edwards and Stephen Curry, was one of three players to make over 300 3PM in the regular season. Beasley finished second in Sixth Man of The Year voting.

Off the court, Beasley faced increasing debt from a dentist, landlord, celebrity barber and marketing firm.
