According to an indictment from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia, that’s exactly what happened in Atlanta.

Last week, Lester Jones was charged with wire fraud and embezzling $3.8M from the Atlanta Hawks.

Jones, who was employed by the NBA team for nearly a decade, saw his multi-year scheme come crashing down after a team-backed audit exposed the crimes.
