What Happened In Indy?

Why Mark Sanchez's Future with Fox is the least of his worries 🎤

It feels as if I get at least one notification per day about reported violence.

Sunday was no exception.

Last weekend, former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez was involved in a violent altercation in Indianapolis, Indiana.

At first, reports were portraying Sanchez as the victim of a stabbing. The Fox Sports analyst did get stabbed, but we eventually learned the man who stabbed Sanchez was allegedly acting in self-defense after Sanchez instigated a confrontation which turned violent.

The investigation remains ongoing, but here’s what we know so far:

Order of Events

A brief timeline to get up to speed:

Friday, October 3: Sanchez is in Indianapolis to cover the Colts-Raiders game at Lucas Oil Stadium the next day.

Around 11:30pm, Sanchez reportedly starts acting erratically near a bar and is doing wind sprints in an alleyway.

Perry Tole, a 69-year-old truck driver, is working for his company that specializes in commercial cooking oil recycling and disposal when he is approached by Sanchez near a Westin Hotel loading dock around midnight.

Saturday, October 4: Shortly after midnight, Sanchez confronts Tole over a parking spot in an alley between two hotels. Violence ensues. Tole uses pepper spray and eventually a knife in an attempt to fight off Sanchez.
